What does this mean?

I often find myself explaining to my personal training clients as way to explain analysing whether it’s a good idea to undertake a particular type of exercise that potentially could lead to injury or re-injury.

When undertaking any training or challenges the risk reward theory should always be applied. Taking into account your training and fitness level (risk to injury) against the reward of the challenge is extremely important and not one to be underestimated!

Every case is different with the person and injury but the period of rehabilitation is often longer than expected. Following a progressive plan that incorporates jogging and walking on a kind surface (not concrete) is simply the best and safest way to return to a discipline that has caused injury in the past.
